Had a fairly good weekend and have more or less finished the Armidale.

Now all I have to do is hope that Steve doesnt change his mind and is still going to do my RHIBS for me.

I shall now put it on ice until I get the RHIBS and then I will finish it completely.

Up till then I will get on with my USS Arizona.

Look forward to the Arizona Rich', as you know I've bought the kit and all the running gear but I think some of the fine detailing especially the etch parts are beyond me, may well pass it on.  Had a look at the etch kit that can be bought as an extra on Saturday at Ellesmere - not a prayer! they are SO delicate and tiny I could hardly see 'em, I'd have absolutely no chance - too clumsy, have to stay with the larger scales I think! You've done a great job as usual, Richard, she looks great :-)) I'm looking forward to seeing shots of her in action.

As the full size boats are 56.8 metres long, I would have thought that overall length in 1/72 scale would be just under 80cm? My 1/50 scale Armidale came out at 1.136 metres.

Have faith Richard

I will get the RHIBs done for you. I am slowly making progress with the one that I will use to make a mould from.

Some photos below of where things are up to.

All the best

If they are as good as the last lot of parts you sent I will wait in anticipation Steve.

Peter, an old moment, hadn't got the energy to go upstairs and measure it.

It's lucky that Steve moved to Canberra or you might be waiting even longer.  :embarrassed:
Our news reports this morning all cover the floods in Wagga and surrounding areas.   Because of the flat nature of the countryside, they are expected to last for at least a week before moving on to devestate other areas.
Floods, after a decade of drought.  <:(

We are in the middle of a drought in the South of England at the moment, they've just brought in a hosepipe ban, in the middle of winter.

Well my RHIBs have turned up from Steve in Oz, He made a great job of them and they are excellent.

Now all I need is for some nice person in Oz to send me photos of the interior of a RHIB, seating etc. so I  can complete the build.

Thanks to Steve and Brian in Oz I have been able to get on with the RHIBs.

These are very fiddly at this scale and what you see in the photos is just over a days F ing and B ing.

Still they arent turning out too bad really.

Watch this space.

I have now finished the  RHIBs and davits.

Have just received the new battery from The Component Shop, so I can try out the new motors I have put in her.
