Italeri Schnellboot accesories
« on: September 24, 2011, 10:04:06 am »

I've just bought the Italeri Schnellboot, which I'll convert to RC, but am having great finding some Cammett sea mines to finish it off. having searched " t'internet", all stockist seem to show no stock levels. I've even e-mailed Cammett, but to date have had no reply. Can anyone help locating a set of these, and possibly the rubber dingy too?
Cheers,
River Tay

A company called Mastercasters now owns the original Cammett moulds.
They are reproducing the Schnellboot accessories including the mines/armoured skullcap/dinghies/gunshield etc.
Hopefully they will be to the same standard as Cammett productions. (watch this space)
Hope this is of help to you.
I have these on order and are due for delivery in the next week or so.
For more information contact Roberta at:

I will upload when I have worked out how.
Dinghy's very good, Skullcap quite a lot of flashing to trim.
However apparently this was a first batch and they are having some more cast.
They now have Canvas Dodgers in stock, the mines have now gone for casting.

from Cammett. Canvas dodgers have just been released and the mines have gone for casting!

The prices at present are:

Dinghies £7-99  Skullcap Bridge £17-99  Canvas Dodgers £26-99 all plus postage:
I spoke with Roberta at mastercasters last night and apparantely there is a delay in producing the mines set at the moment !

I have tried to upload some pics today of the progress of my S100, unfortunately I keep getting an INVALID FILE notice.
The pics are the same camera/file format/size as previously submitted. I wonder if there is there a problem with the site again!!
I will try again later!

Thank you for your positive comments guys, I am currently weathering the bridge area while waiting for the filler on the rudders to set.
The etching parts for the dinghies are proving to be difficult to fit accurately!
More pics to follow soon!

That's looking good so far, are you going to motorize it? I have some bit's knocking around that might be of use to you, let me know if you need any thing, free of charge of course.
Cheers

Hi Phil, thanks for the comments and offer. I think I have most areas covered, however I may take you up on your offer if i encounter anything
I haven't thought of!
Yes it is going to be R/C,d. I have 3 x 480 motors + all the radio gear which I will be tackling in the next few weeks.
I'm presently just enjoying assembling the photo etch stuff and modifying the storage facilities on the deck.
Rudders and tubes now completed, just need to sort out how to make the Lurson linkage work with the normal steerage system!
I'm still waiting for Master Casters to get the mine set in production so I can complete the stern area.
A couple more pics of the Master Casters items I recently purchased
