Depending on the size of the holes, I always use diamond burrs for such materials, they can be picked up very cheaply e.g.

Something else that might help is to think of your favourite politian while doing it. I think it was the late "Professor" Jimmy Edwards (of "Take It From Here" on the radio), when confronting his boiled egg at breakfast, used to do this, pick up his spoon and smash his skull in.
