Churchill's Babes

An unusually well written piece in the Daily Mail tonight about Cressy, Aboukir and Hogue.

Although it describes very well the outrageous situation regarding the robbing of these war graves, the article IMHO fails to do justice to the awful tragedy of what happened that day. (They were called 'Churchill's Babes", or War Babies, because of the large numbers of young ratings on board.)

One of very few surviving tangible links to the ships is the builder's model of Cressy, to be found in the Ships Of The Sea museum, in Savannah, Georgia.

Here's a picture of the model, built by Fairfields, kindly sent to me by the museum's curator.
