Help! I need to replace the switch on my old Futaba Tx in a rush. Had a look on Maplins and they seem to sell only double pole switches (DPDT) in the size I need. What does double pole mean and can I use this as a simple on off for the transmitter?

The on off switch in the tx seems to have 3 sets of paired solder connections. Is this a single pole switch!?

I have quickly sketched the bottom of a Double pole switch. This has 2 banks of three connections, left and right. these are isolated from each other. If you can only fit this type and have three wires in your set, pass the wires through both solder pins as shown in the illustration. This gives you double the contact area. looking on the Maplins site, you need either Type E, On-On, locking, or Type K, On-(On), Momentary, or sprung bias one way. These are Double Pole type switches, although the Type A Single Pole switch is the same thread size and should also do the job.
