Strange colour for Canadian navy ship
« on: October 14, 2011, 05:13:06 pm »

Hello

Seen today at Brest - France, the Canadian Force research ship Quest (CFAV 172) with a stange livery : white for starboard and dark grey for portside !   :o

After some search on the net, it's look to be because of absorbent paint testing !  It was a scheme like that during wwII North Atlantic convoy along the ice of Artica : one side as camouflage like ice and one side in grey for the sea... and the ship is supposed to be paint opposite for the back trip ?  {-)

Don't be silly - of course they didn't repaint the camouflage for the return trip - she just went astern back across the Atlantic!

You are right Tobyker : so stupid I'm, off course they return backward  :}

I was also thinking, maybe going back to America on the same direction to East : via Siberia and Alaska ... it's look to be possible now with climate warming
