Well i had the privelige today of starting the very first full kit of the Portland Pilot boat from Andy at Models by Design. The mouldings are excellent quality with a good thickness to them, the kit consists of a two piece moulding, hull with deck joined and the wheelhouse, some fitiings such as window frames, rear door, liferaft and brasswork are ready with the cast resin fittings due to be finished next week.
First job today was to cut a false bow thruster tube into the hull, this was done using a piece of brass tube and fit the propshafts and rudders, after this was complete i managed to spray the hull before it went dark, a little tricky as the white stripe is a funny shape and crosses two spray rails...
Apologies for the last couple of pictures, dropped the camera and now the flash as stopped working
