When HMC&E was eaten by the Inland Revenue, the former preventive work went to the Border Agency (or whatever they were called that week). At that stage 'Nellie' was given a set of fetching red, white and blue stripes down each side and a subtle logo (!!). Apart from that there was no colour change - there being only one boat of that type in service with the UK. The US Coastguard operates dozens of similar V-T Island Class vessels with their white colour scheme, but that variant doesn't have the "blockhouse" Ops Room immediately behind the wheelhouse/bridge. It also has a more complicated lattice mast.

It may be time for an upgrade on mine, those stripes look quite good O0

Interesting combination of etched and plastic sheet for the doors, it works quite well.

She's coming along fine, are you happy with the progress?

Hello!

I ask a question for those who realized the Sentinel :
I would like to see a photo of the hatch equipped with the davit .... I mean the hatch full featured removed from the aft deck
Is it easy to remove it with the aft deck handrails and the davit ?
If somebody could show me a picture just of the hatch to have an idea.
Thank you

Thank you C-3PO and dougal99

Beautifull works !!!
But can you lift off the hatch from the aft deck as shown at the notice book Fig 4 and Fig 7 (Deck, Bulwarks and Hatch)
From yours photos, I imagine all the rear deck is fixed !

Yes the rear hatch lifts off. I use the vent to pick it up, I haven't got a good picture and the model is not readily available to photograph unfortunately. This photo is not very good but shows the rear hatch removed (at the top of the photo).

What do you think about colour in spray "green Nato" from TAMIYA for the deck compared to "Mat green 78" Humbrol proposed by Model Slipway ?
Humbrol leaves tracks of brush .......
If you have another kind of green to propose ?
Thank's

Concerning colours for the green, I made photos with the 2 shades of green
Photo one : green Nato (Tamiya) on the flying deck
Photo two : a sample green with green Nato (on the right) compared to Mat green 78 Humbrol
You will notice the green Nato on photo 1 has the same shade as mat green on photo 2 : problem of luminosity in the room

Photo 3 : I put the sample on the flying deck to have an idea !

The Nato one is much richer and would probably weather down to the Humbrol86over time, but I do like the Nato green.

I used the Humbrol green on my model, my reason being that Model Slipway would have done their research and recommended the appropriate colour.

The real deal c/o Vospers.
BTW If 3CPO's RIB pictures aren't of my original plank-on-frame Nellie then someone has done an incredible job of copying it. I sanded those RIB side stringers from 0.8mm ply one Boxing Day morning, with the most tremendous hangover......
