Al Khubar re- fit
« on: February 26, 2011, 02:30:22 pm »

Hi all , new to the forum thought you might like to see my Al Khubar re-fit it was on Mayhem a few years and was kindly photographed by Martin at Orton Mere boating lake
http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/Modellers/Kevin_Mortimer/1ndex.htm
Sadly it sat on a shelf getting dusty for about 5 years  :(( and looking a bit sorry for herself ! but time for a new lease of life.
The tug has had the mast re built as I was never really happy with ,with new bulbs and nav lights and a working radar scanner , in total I hope to have 21 working lights !
New 20amp ESCs will be fitted as I sold the others after fitting them to a model tank which I then sold ! ..
Crew figures are a mix of 1/32 scalextric figures and Graupner deck figures, just to give the tug a bit of life.
More pics to follow as the re-fit progresses.

Nice work! Surprised more people didnt comment this (or did the grumpy nature rub people up the wrong way!?)

BTW, you can buy small brushes for cleaning dust of model boats. These are used by car detailers' and are used to brush dust out of nooks and cranies in car dashboards. They come in various sizes. be careful though as some people charge silly money for them. Fortunately I detail my car so have about 5 in different sizes which cost about 6 quid off fleabay.
