There are three main ways to fit a fore-and-aft sail to a mast:

A sleeve of sail slides over the mast (as used on the unstayed masts of Laser dinghies).
The sail runs up a track or groove in the aft face of the mast (as used on most dinghies with stays on their masts).
The sail contains hoops which run up the mast as the sail is raised.

I think we need more information about your yacht, regiment!

Or you can use rope through eyes in the sail and around the mast.

Hi, you can also use a 'jack line' This is a tensioned line at the back of the mast about 1/16th inch out and can be held in place with small split pins, mast drilled and glued to hold them in place.  You can use thin piano wire for this as well.
Simple hooks from hook and eye use for the sails.  Or use 1/2 inch lengths of white plastic tube held to the edge of the sail with adhesive sail cloth.
I have used this system 2 or3 times and it works well.
Oldest one about 10 years old and no sign of wear.
