Have you notice zeitgeist movement lately or film with the same name on youtube- I don't think everything they are saying is pure gold but there few things that makes you think :o

Agree with you 100% Geoff. Greece should never have entered the Euro. Essentially, for all the attractiveness of the place, Greece is a 2nd world country and entering the Euro was a great mistake, at a stroke everything became more expensive and now the place is effectively bankrupt which is a great shame.

Nothing wrong with entering the Euro per se - it was just doing that allowed them to borrow money cheaply as if they were Germany. If their politicians had listened to their economists they would have only borrowed what they could pay back. But the politicians were greedy, and the people were completely incapable of understanding what was going on. They just enjoyed a decade of apparently unlimited state spending, and are now finding out where that money came from...
