Robot Marketplace have a selection of speed controllers, have been reliable for all my purchases.

I have run FOUR John Darke geared 700's off ONE of these controllers in a 60 inch planing hull cruiser driving two 75mm props at nearlly 10000 RPM. 1800 watts.
