Thanks Dave.

Then you won't be able to afford a Hammond organ then.   {-)

Sorry the film is jittery.

Ken,

I have put a few pictures of Gry Maritha on my blog - taken of her coming out of dry dock. See - www.channelimages.com

Here's a preview!

Thank you Chris. Great set of pictures.  Every time I see her there's always something different to make note of. Unfortunately, as a working vessel, she looks like something I've painted, which is just as well as I feel more confident now.

I had a look around your blog and was impressed with the quality. Some lovely clear shots of various craft. Highly recommended everyone. Have a look.  :-))

Regards

Ken

With the  automatics all done, it was time to glue down the deck.  As the windows were all misted up with glue vapours I decided to do them again using cockpit glue.

As there were no labels with this kit, I thought I'd make my own.  This involved a lot of Photoshop work and searching for suitable signs.  We got there in the end and here's the printed out sheets ready for cutting and fitting.

The cabin deck was painted to match the main deck and the non working fire hose assembly was fitted.

Here's an overview of the work done so far.   We are technically ready to sail her now, but first it's the 'Bath test'.  No photos will be released until it checks out OK.  You know my reputation.   %)

Hi Chris,

I'm working on the davits this morning. I have close ups on the pictures and I have a strip of metal coming from the the big arm to where ?  it might be a clamp to keep the arm in stowage, but would move when the boat is lowered.

Hi Derek,

They are chained to the deck to stop people stealing them.   {-)  {-)  {-)  {-)

That part is fixed to the David ARM and stops the boat going in too far when stowed as the falls will be slightly onboard of the center line (I think you know what I been)

Does this mean it travels out with arm when the boat is lowered. ?

Yes each davit has that stop post which will make contact with the rubbing strake of the boat.
They help guide the boat to land on two more for the keel when it is set for sea
Sorry I'm on my phone so can't add picture assistance.

Perfectly understood now. Thank you very much.   :-))

I'm off to do some more glueing, then it's the bath test.

Today I did a little  'Railings' work.

Rather than drill holes in the deck and place stanchions in them, I decided to dry make them on the bench.

I marked out on a piece of scrap wood, the positions, and taped them down. I then ran the brass wire through them and soldered in situ. I was then able to offer the assembly up to the deck and mark and drill the holed in one go. The first side went well and I glued them in place.

The other side was made but I thought I'd paint them before fitting to prevent paint splashes going on the deck. I shall try this tomorrow and take a picture then.

I have also completed the Life canisters and the side light holders and placed them in their fittings.

The lifeboat is on along with the Davits but there is no picture yet.

Cheers Chris.  I do like to know where details are and what they're for, so all's well now.

Had a great day with the railings. I must say it feel like the home straight now.

They are painted and fitted as shown below. Only the Bridge house set to make now.  Seems I have to chauffeur to the big shops today.  %)

Very nice work Kenny; I have one of these models but I had no idea that Model Slipway had discontinued the kit. Here's a good photo of the boat at low tide that you might not have seen:-

I do hope the kit comes out again -I am keen to build her again. I had one previously but sold it - oops!

The model slipway hull does not include the 'box keel' as seen here.
