Welsh lobsters..
« on: November 23, 2011, 01:58:38 pm »

What the heck do the Welsh people feed their lobsters on?

Here's 'George the Pot', potman on The Dawn Treader, thinking to himself  'if these perishin' things get any bigger I'm putting in for danger money....'

(Thanks to MMB for the crustacean delivery this morning, by the way!)

Camera on charge as we speak...there's loads of little scenes, as well as 'George the Pot' fighting a giant Welsh lobster, there's 'George the Wrench' engaged in repairing a leaky hydraulic pipe, 'Captain George' standing by with a long length of metal pipe just in case the giant Welsh lobster overcomes 'George the Pot', and 'Old George' taking five minutes peace and quiet and enjoying a crafty smoke, with his faithful companion 'George the Dog' at his feet.

There will be a new crew member named 'Boy George' arriving very soon, he's the nephew of 'George the Pot', and is coming to spend his school holidays on board The Dawn Treader.

Boy George?  {-)

Best put him near the giant lobster: he could be asking "Do you really want to hurt me?"  %%

"do you really want to make me cry..."  He would do if a lobster that size grabbed him in the nether regions...

More deck scenes from the Dawn Treader...

'George the Wrench' grappling with the complications of leaky oil pipes...

'Old George' enjoying his pipe with his faithful companion 'George the dog' keeping an eye on him...

A view over the deck from the stern...

General view of the deck...

A look at the junk and clutter on the cabin roof...'Captain George' doesn't like to throw anything away. Just in case...

I've just realised, I've got Old George's twin brother (Pilot Pete)
steering my Ohio River Grocery Delivery Boat - he was photographed
recently having a quick pipe on deck whilst the cabin floor was
being fitted !

By George, Richard!

So let me think now...that must mean that 'Pilot Pete' is related to 'George the Wrench' somewhere along the line. I suspect that 'Grandad George' was a bit of a lad in his day...   %)

Maybe the family originated somewhere not far from the Ohio river
in the good old USA  . . .  They had a reputation for inbreeding in
the Appalachians!

Thanks for that GB...not bad for an RTR boat, is she?

Richard...I'd heard about these strange mating rituals in the Appalachians. Perhaps I should contemplate flying the Stars n' Stripes from the masthead? By the time the crew have staggered out of the 'Pike and Pilchard' after sinking several pints of "Ye Olde Welshe Peculiar", they wouldn't be able to see the boat, let alone the flag she was flying!

Here's an earlier pic of her undergoing net trials in dry dock...

And one of her on her maiden voyage...
