Question re downloading films
« on: November 25, 2011, 09:48:29 am »

A friend of mine has downloaded a film from the internet, Dark Blue World, but finds that whilst the download is succesful the icon and the screen image are both very shallow, thus the aspect ratio is wrong and the film is unwatchable.

Another film he downloaded has worked okay.

What should my friend do to fix this situation???

I have had quite a few downloads that have the wrong aspect ratio. Most players allow the user to change this.  I use a application called VLC which plays nearly all the movie formats and allows changes to a lot of aspects of the movie file, it's also a free download so that's a bonus.  You have to do it every time you play the file but substantial changes to size and quality of the playback are possible. One nice feature is that you can add a subtitle file from a seperate source. It'll play DVDs too.

As I don't want to spend ANY time in goal.....

I would would like to point out that Model Boat Mayhem does not endorse any form of copyright infringement, software piracy or illegal downloading.

.... but I know you guys wouldn't do anything like that!
