Hello all,
first, as a newcomer to this forum, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Rob (or Robert if you'd prefer that), I am 54 years old and Dutch.
I have lived in Rotterdam all my life until three years ago, when I moved to the Eastern part of the country. Most inhabitants of Rotterdam take a keen interest in anything connected with ships, and I am no exception. I have been shipmodelling for a large number of years, mainly surface warships. With the (then) largest port in the world nearby, I have had many opportunities to see and visit the real things!
Submarines have always had a special attraction for me. I tried to make an RC model many years ago, but my technical skills simply weren't up to it. It didn't help that the RC equipment wasn't as advanced in those days as they are now.
But with all the kits, electronics, and other equipment available to the modeller today, it's a different story, even if my technical skills haven't improved very much over the years. Up to now, I have built a Blueback class sub (a Small World Models kit) and a Trumpeter 1/144 Seawolf sub , RC'd with a French WTC kit.
And recently, I have bought and started work on a OTW Vanguard with an OTW dive module. Both excellent value for money IMHO. I have already seen some threads on this forum about this kit and I am looking for any photographs and drawings of this class of sub, so any help with this would be most appreciated!
And now for the question(s): does anyone know if and where I can find accurate drawings of Thunderbrird 4 and Stingray? I loved to watch these shows when I was a small boy and I certainly want to try and make an RC'd model of those subs.
Best regards,
Rob
