My Borkum
« on: December 08, 2011, 08:35:19 pm »

Hi,

Started in December 2010, here are some pics of my Borkum. I haven't made pictures from the beginning.
I haven't work on it on a regular basic so it's not finished yet, but almost. Last status that you don't see on these pictures is the varnishing on sides deck and fixing servos for whistle and "forward & reversed" control.
It has a vertical boiler & a "Jade" 3.1 cc engine from Anton.

Stop valve and regulator:

No problem anymore:

Hi,

I've ordered the whistle and its valve to JPB in France, he's making boilers and other nice stuff for steam engines...

Gilles, great to see you here.
Your patience and care are showing great results!  :-))

The Anton looks superb, and I think all of Jean Paul's parts are first class - when I need a boiler - he'll be the man to go to.

Yes, gas regulator pressure is adjusted, i made several tests with 2,5 bars & 2 bars, but gas tank pressure was too low (1 bar), so i got a loss of flame when boiler pressure reached gas valve adjustment at 2 bar. I haven't tried the cut-off valve yet.

Very nice! How much does the steam plant alone weigh?

Hi,

Well, I honestly don’t know, all I can tell is that the boat and steam plant + engine was 5.5kg before I add weights to reach 7kg to have the boat within its water line.
That info could be find on Anton website at the vertical boiler + crystal engine page.

Best regards
