Polyurethane or Polyester Varnish ?

What are the pro's and con's of these, particularly when varnishing a deck.

In the past most polyurethanes yellowed with age and polyesters were very low colour change with age , polyesters in general harder, polyurethane more flexible

The problem is with modern formulations, it all depends on brand / formula / how you want to use it,  as many polyurethanes and polyesters are virtually identical in performance
