I did wonder about that bulkhead and the rear canopy. I'll be getting a set of plans from the NMM anyway, so will work to them. The rear shelter is in such poor condition I had decided to replace it anyway. Fry's drawings in his book show a bulkhead in one continuous piece, like mine. Other boats had a bulkhead with a fairly vertical lower part and a quite shallow slope on the upper part, with an angle between them. I suspect that unless one has plans and preferably photos of one boat on a specific date, there is a risk of getting a sort of composite of the features of several boats at different times, even in whatever reference books one consults.
One thing that does grieve me a little; The Rankin seems to have had non-slip decks pretty much from the very beginning. I'd hate to paint over those nicely planked decks on my model, so it may be a choice between authenticity and personal feeling for what looks nice. Not sure which way I'll go on that one yet. Lots to do before I get that far, anyway.
