Wooden boat with R/C
« on: December 16, 2011, 05:46:25 pm »

Hi
I have just about finished my first wooden boat, a billings Norden. I would now like to build one that I can fit radio control into. I enjoy doing timber hulls so I would prefer this to a GRP one. What do you think would be a good project?

Well if you get on with Billings style of kit how about something like this one.... http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/billing_boats_boulogne_etaples.html  Plank on frame and ideal for radio control really, or they also have this. http://www.cornwallmodelboats.co.uk/acatalog/billing_boats_st_canute.html

Both aren't big for your first attempt at R/C and make nice working models as you can, with modern R/C gear cheaply run lights, winches etc as well.  :-)) Oh, and welcome to the forum too..... :D
