The only trouble with this tread is that it's too easy to look the lyrics up.

Well Ive not tried to look any up.  Product of a sad anorak existence quoting them and film script extracts to a workmate for more years that I care to remember.

Maybe the hard part is not answering but is coming up with a good lyric to post when you do answer?
But yes, better if people don't look them up.

My daughter has been suggesting Slipknot lyrics - but I can't understand a word they scream, far less spell it.
For those who haven't heard them - I really wish I was you.

A lot of lyrics don't scan, are illiterate or appear to have been influenced by the ingestion of exotic substances...

Bring back Kipling.

No idea at the moment - any chance of another line?

.............. and just for Colin

Who hath desired the Sea? Her menaces swift as her mercies?
The in-rolling walls of the fog and the silver-winged breeze that disperses?
The unstable mined berg going South and the calvings and groans that declare it –
White water half-guessed overside and the moon breaking timely to bare it –
His Sea as his fathers have dared — his Sea as his children shall dare it:
His Sea as she serves him or kills?
So and no otherwise — so and no otherwise — hillmen desire their Hills.

From a more cultured writer of lyrics came this.

A great lord came walking,
 Through the forest one morning,
With a weapon in his hand.

That strikes me as possibly 'Losing my religion' by Oasis.

I've lost touch with who's turn it is...so,

For the maples want more sunlight and the oaks ignore their pleas"
