Staying in the American vein, here's a merchie with a southern connection.

Thanks for finding me a new ferry route to look at - I was looking towards Finland and Sweden  :embarrassed:
I see they also have Seaplanes - I would love to try them out.

Sorry Dave, I'm not into warships of this period and cannot tell which vessel is depicted.

I wonder if this thread is dormant?
May I stir it up and resuscitate it a little?

A couple of days ago I created a lines plan with DELFTship of a vessel that intrigued me
but for which there is next to none documentation available as far as drawings are concerned.
I was baffled about so much obfuscation that reminded me somehow of paranoia.
So much that I thought I should start filling the void with my own contributions.

Can you name the ship?

But I fear this little trivia is so easy that I probably first should have started
by only unveiling the right half (viz. the fore ship) of the body plan.

Deadwood - I must disagree - you most certainly can name the vessel
That aside my real interest is in the composition of the photo not the ship.
Warships aren't my thing, though I like their build threads. I like ferries
(mainly USA) and most older working vessels.

Your lines I will leave for another member as I was watching your interesting
conversation with Carl - so a bit unfair for me to pop back and solve it.

Re thread I have an idea to pursue from the clue so not dead yet.

The ship is the Izumo as I mention in the post  O0

My last post certainly seems to have stumped people, or they couldn't care less {-)  The ship was named for a southern american state.

If no one know this then I declare myself the winner and we can start a fresh game. :P %% %% :-))

That was what I was going to try next, States and then City names. You deserve another go
anyway just for it lasting so long  O0

Mind you, it's a good looking boat for a merchie.  I'm not usually one for cargo ships but this is pretty stylish.

Hi Xtian

Sorry L'Estuaire, Bordeaux - I didn't enlarge the image to check. But you say it is the wrong vessel - so on we go.

Yes she's La Gironde. There is two ferries on the link between Le Verdon and Royan crossing the river Gironde (in the Bordeaux vineyard area).

The older is La Gironde built in Spain in 2002 and the newest is L'Estuaire built in Poland/France seven years later.   They are very close in design but different in detail, having to count the window and portholes  :embarrassed:

Your turn dave ... an US ferries ?
