My fleet
« on: January 05, 2012, 07:24:29 pm »

Here is some picture of my fleet in different scale, my favorite scale being 1/72. Hope you will enjoy my work   :-)

first of all, here's some 1/72 U-Boat (from Amati and revell)

Here is a 1/72 US modern aircraft carrier, the hull is made with fiber glass, below is a star destroyer from Star wars, made in plexiglass

This is a huge 1/72 Diorama about World war two, used for wargames, 10 years work, 14 meter long (46 feet long)

Here is a 1/700 aircraft carrier, USS Nimitz :

Here is a world war 2 fleet with U.S and Japanese fleet in 1/1200 scale, used for wargame :

The US Fleet :

The japanese fleet :

To appreciate the 1/1200 scale :

And now I'm building a 1/72 US aircraft carrier of world war II, only starting with the plane, I've already built some SBD dauntless (no photo yet) and some F4U Corsair :

That's all for now but I will try to share my future work when it will be completed.

Thank you all for your appreciation and link, I still have some place, time and money to build others big ship, it's a pity that manufacturers don't offer much choice in 1/72 for ships  >>:-(  (The old revell flower class corvette is the only one with subs, if we except small patrol boats and landing craft) because I'm not the only one interested by this scale, I saw on internet at least two project for a 1/72 yamato battleship and many others. As for me I prefer aircraft carriers, I've always been fascinated by such ship and intend to build not less than one or two US (1 escort carrier and 1 Essex class)  %% and one japanese (not determined yet) for world war two. I already stockpiled around 50 planes and more to come. My 1/72 fleet will become more powerful and ready for battle  <*< My program will keep me busy for some time  8)

Here is some update to my work, I've built some more planes for my future 1/72 aircraft carrier (US and also Japan), I have 25 navy planes but much more are needed for a carrier and I'm building them right now (TBM Avenger, F6F hellcat, Japanese torpedo planes and others. I will start the aircraft carriers when I will have built around 50 planes (already stockpiled). I have ready all the materials, specific tools and plans for it. Hope to start in few month. :}

An attack group of 1/72 SBD Dauntless (Airfix, built direct from the box).

Some 1/72 Zero A6M5 japanese fighters

These are 1/72 Aichi Val japanese dive bomber

And another subject I recently finished : 1/72 figures about indians and US cavalry (Atlantic product for those who remenber...), it's used for wargames, and they still need a new diorama when I will have time. I started a small one some decade ago but I will need to add or rebuild :D

The attack of the Diligence

The Sioux Camp

The Attack of the US convoy

A group of pioneer wagons

US cavalry supply convoy and artillery

US camp

Yes, you're right, it's the Luxor temple, I had the opportunity to visit it so I decided to make it the way the Egyptian could see it when it was built and full of painting.

I've just finished a group of 6 Helldivers for my 1/72 aircraft carrier project, I think now I have enough planes (around 50) to start working on the ship and others parts, I'm still gathering fittings.

Hi

Just had a look at your link too - very industrious I must say. So did I get it right - you use brown parcel tape for masking? Is it that plasticky type? Doesn't it bleed at all?

The guy in the photo is climbing on his plane  O0  or maybe dancing to celebrate his 5th Zero fighter shot down. ok2
And yes, I used the parcel tape as masking tape, just try it and you will enjoy the perfect result, 2 quality exist, thin and very cheap (not suitable at all for masking, it doesn't even glue well to the canopy) and thick, the strongest, easy to use and best for canopy masking. :-))

Great painting on the uniforms there ADM, I noticed best on that third photo taken from behind. Very realistic folds. Because my brain works at tangents that got me trying to remember in particular what it was called when an artist like Leonardo painted the draped figure - not retrieved it yet but meanwhile I came across this which has some nice examples of drawing folds in clothing. I thought I'd post it up as it might help someone painting figures but struggling - no not you ADM {-) http://www.mightyartdemos.com/mightyartdemos-bradley.html
