Spektrum DX5e will not bind HELP!
« on: January 12, 2012, 02:50:10 pm »

My transmitter after years of service will not bind with any of my 4 AR500 receivers. I have done binding many times with no problem, thought it was the receiver at first but now all 4 don't work and all control over previously bound receivers does not work.

Has anyone had same problem?? or Know the cure??

Have a word with Horizon Hobby UK Ltd (01279 641097)
http://www.horizonhobby.co.uk/index.html

Absolutely first class service, second to absolutely none :-))

Last time i used them my OUT of warranty repair was free!, had a load of receivers updated...yep for FREE, and they were only away for a day :-)) :-))

No connection with Horizon, just a well happy customer.

And I have come to it today and Transmitter and all 4 receivers are binding and working fine. Perfect.

I am in my workshop where I usually set up But I am now wondering if there was a interfering signal in the area yesterday?

I did have a similar problem last year - got to the water and my boat wouldn't respond. When I got home still the same, tried another Rx - the same. Then I rebound them both and everything worked %) :o.

I know this sounds  strange but sometimes they won't bind if they are too close together.  I have no idea why, perhaps the signal is swamped??   They are also very voltage dependent.

Broadband wireless hubs are on 2.4 GHz Can be a problem if in the same room.
Fluorescent lights can also be a problem  when trying to bind RX/TX
CCTV (wireless) is also 2.4GHz
Etc Etc 2.4 Ghz is used everywhere now.
Not a problem once binding has taken place
But can cause problems whilst binding.

Tried to re-bind another truck today and the problem has returned.....BUT!

This time I found the real problem I was having, just one of my binding plugs is faulty there in no continuity from one pin to the other.

What a relief now knowing the problem is solved.
