Lovely looking models..........that Pole Star is a lot different to the Pole Star I saw in Lerwick in 1990.......... wonder what happened to that one?

At Richmond Park Boat Club today and Lachie sailed the Polestar. He has added lots more fine detail but the most striking additions are the two navigation buoys hoisted onboard for maintainance, complete with barnacles. Crew figures to be added next.

He has replaced the grease in the drive units with oil and I have to say that I think it is not nearly as noisy and the timbre of the sound has changed to more of an engine noise. I also think the boat is faster.

I had a go myself to allow him to take some video and found it difficult to steer at first. Small nudges on the rudder stick seem to be the answer.

My models are not nice, clean and ship-shape. They be mucky, grubby, rusty and smelly.

Wow that really is and incredible piece of work, often seen the real boat and wanted a model of it.  Would love to build the Pharos, but would need to retire first i think.  :-))
