The motors are MMB's 360s

I have an ACTion P94 , P92 , 2/P95

Richard I note in PREVIOUS posting that everything has been tried and tested and it all works, now I note you have moved the Batt Position, could this be the trouble that you haev inadvertantly changed the wiring around................................OR even is it as simple as you have got the WRONG boat on your controller ME thinks it is the latter   ??????????

Dicky,

Is this a new, (post Oct 2011), P94 - according to the website, incorrect neutral setting might not work properly  ** (Caveat - I'm only going off the website data)

The only other thing I can think of, is if the Tx programming isn't allowing reverse {:-{

If both motors/ESCs work as expected individually, without the mixer, then the mixer might be the villain, and need setting up again, checking the centre points.  I had lots of fun with mine until I got the leads going to the speed and steering in the right order and plugged into the right channels on the RX.

I would imagine the P94 might not be reversing for some reason.  You gonna have to analyse it further.  Perhaps a word with the ACTionman as this happened to mine.

There is no problem with using a Planet T5 system with P94 - I have one and it works fine. I gather that yours also did until "something happened". It may be that somehow the radio has gone back to the original setting used by aircraft and helicopters, and that the neutral throttle signal now corresponds to full back stick. I always recommend fitting a spring-return to the throttle stick on these transmitters. In all events you have to switch the Tx on with the throttle lever in the centre of its throw, and leave it there until the relays have sung their song. Alternatively you may have accidentally connected up something wrong or shorted something when you were moving the batteries and blown the two little diodes between the terminal blocks. That's a ten minute fix.
When you're dealing with a dirt-basic Chinese radio designed for very-cheap-things-that-fly then you will come up against problems which otherwise wouldn't exist or could be programmed out. I suggest trying the P94 with a different Tx and Rx - preferably one of the "normal" brands such as Futaba, JR, Hitec, Sanwa, Robbe-Futaba etc. If it still misbehaves then send it back for us to examine.  If it's OK with the other radio then the problem lies with the Planet radio................and good luck getting any sense out of the UK importers! Shame that they now also have the Hitec agency.

Calm down Dave, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the P94.

I do have the spring conversion on the throttle.

Up till now I had only tried it on the bench and it seemed ok when trying forward and reverse, didnt think to see if props changed direction.

Only noticed when I put it in the test tank and the boat would only go forward.

Disconnected battery before working on it, always turned on Tx first and waited longer than 10 seconds for relays to get to work.

Will phone you tomorrow.

Richard
Have now received the offending P94 and found that when you fitted the new microprocessor you had accidentally missed locating one of the little pins (#1), so that it was bent underneath the body of the chip without making contact properly with its socket. You couldn't have seen this without removing the chip; I'll send it back so you can see what I mean. I have replaced the chip and tested the unit with my Planet 5, and all is now well.

Just knew it would be my mistake. Only defence is that the pins were bent when I got it.

Still, good to know I can carry on endorsing your products Dave.

Shall await the postman.

Got the P94 back today and it now works perfectly, as you would expect from an ACTion product.

Excellent service from Dave, P94 sent back Wednesday, received back again today.
