Happy Birthday Australia, Alan Colson, Rabbie Burns and anyone else with a birthday today.
The Bottle from Jura and the Chieftain of the pudding race will be devoured tonight by a
Welshman living in Grimsby.
Well, we keep being told to embrace other countries beliefs and traditions.
It's my belief that a good single malt should be a tradition everywhere.

Especially when it comes from the island slightly to the south-west of Jura 8) and is at least 16 years old :-))

Happy Birthday Australia, Alan Colson, Rabbie Burns and anyone else with a birthday today.

It was my birthday on 25th January, the same day as Robert Burns :-) but unlike Alan, who's only 60, I was 75 <:(

We are currently in Blackwater, which is 200km west of Rockhampton, Queensland, visiting our daughter and son-in-law, and our newest granddaughter, who is 3 weeks old. Not much rain here, although storms are predicted, and it was 38 Celsius yesterday. Heavy rain where we live, but luckily we left before it started.

Peter,

Good to hear you missed it, and all the road trauma on the 'Bruce'.

Peter,

We turned off at Gympie and came up through Kilkivan, Eidsvold and Biloela then the Capricorn Highway to Blackwater.

Peter.

That was a smart move and you bypassed Rocky, probably was a bit shorter as well going 'inland'.
I suppose it is not as humid at Blackwater as it is at Rocky, at 98% in Brissie, rain is on the way back.

If it is still rainhing on your way back, keep an eye on Gympie, it goes under (Mary River) very quickly, at short notice.

Enjoy the break.
