Pompey is also being prepared for the new carriers with jetty and services upgrades. The channel entering Portsmouth will be straightened, widned and deepened. This new channel will take it over the Mary Rose site so, as far I know, the MOD is paying for the final excavation of the site to bring up the remnants.
