Looking at the "quality" of the elected presidents of European countries,
it's my humble opinion that we have got the best deal.

I am a huge admirer of Her Majasty, and am almost a neighbour here in Windsor.  We can see the Castle from our house.
A role model of warm dignity and stability in a topsy turvey world where elected politicians seem to come and go like autumn leaves. With all our countries faults and weaknesses, She makes me proud to be British  :-))

Front row 5th from the right, a very young royalist at the coronation party at the local church. I was watching the best marionette show I have seen before or since.
   I wish Her Majesty a happy and successful Diamond Jubilee Year and many more years after too. Bless Her.

PS., where do you all get these wavy flags from?? I want one please.

You must be about the same age as me then Jerry.

The King died on my 10th birthday, so every anniversary I get the Royal Anthem played during my breakfast.  :}

I was born in 1949 and was most disappointed when I discovered that it was possible to travel to England to see the Coronation and my parents would not take me there. I did have a Coronation set which included a plastic figure of the Queen and a Coach with Horses. The Coach and horses have long disappeared and the figure lasted untill a few years back when I had children.

Gerald.

Nice to know I'm not the only Royalist on here.

I'm unashamedly a Royalist, and I'm also a proud Aussie born and bred. Some think the two don't go together, but in my case they do O0

And another Royalist.   Not quite so sure about King Charlie though!
I remember at school, we were all given Mugs with their Highnesses faces on.
My father, a Radio / TV engineer spent the morning of the Corination finishing a reel to reel tape recorder and managed to record the BBC radio broadcast.

I am a keen supporter of our Royal Family,  i was about 5 years old at the time of the Coronation, and remember my parents buying our first Television so that we could watch it.   Like Gerald, I had a a Coronation Set, (Coach and Horses) don't know what happened to it, thier apparently worth a fortune now.
