My Trawler.
« on: April 07, 2012, 09:15:52 am »

Via email to Mayhem...

Hi There. finally launched my trawler today thought some of the model boaters might like to see it in the water after about nine months of building. The boat is my own design built from Tasmanian Huon Pine 1.5 Mts in length driven with a Holden commodore air fan motor driving a 80mm four blade Raboesch propeller, the boat exceeded my expectations in speed & handling so I was pretty happy with the way things went, My grandsons are over the moon about it so I hope to spend a bit of time at the Penguin lake with the boat to get used to using radio control operating a boat.

Hi Mark W. Yes, She weighted in at exactly twenty kilograms, I use two straps made out of auto seat belts with velcro to hold them together, I can put it in & out of the water quite easily myself using them.

Hi hemayann. Planning to get up to the casino,Do you run your boats every Sunday. I have been a bit busy lately helping a friend with some renovations & Waiting for a remote switch for the cooling pump it doesn't need to run full time, I had the boat running for about an hour & the motor only got warm to touch, so I will turn it on now & then just to be sure.
