More snow!
« on: February 09, 2012, 07:50:03 pm »

Is it snowing anywhere else? We we just getting rid of the last lot and now there's at least an inch of fresh snow with more still falling! Gonna be a fun drive to work tonight, gritters havent been round yet so could be a bit slippy.

It wasn't snowing when I looked but we've now got all the shutters closed and hatches battened {-) so I couldn't tell you.
It was hellish here this morning. Black ice everywhere. My wife commutes across the A590 every morning. She said the drive was terrifying. The car was sliding everywhere and she passed about five separate and major crashes en route. We had rain on top of ice and frozen ground this morning. Not good.
Snow would be a pleasure.

Snowing in Windsor right now, and settling too.  If it keeps up then navigating the motor model-boat transporter will be challenging tomorrow.

I just thought I should let you know we have snow too, but then we tend to get that white rain a lot, usually for 6 months of the year. We are surprised when it is not snowing. If you guys are ever short let us know, I am sure we could afford a few pounds or is it kilo's these days, & it is sooo much fun to drive in, you don't know what you are missing. Rumour has it that it will probably stop before June this year because of global warming. Mick B. PS = tongue pressed hard into left cheek.

coming home late last night, car's outside thermometer was registering -13'c....today is a beautifully sunny day and the snow that fell over the last couple of days is all crunchy underfoot.

Really fancy another two or three foot of the stuff...saves me going out to work!

i have a thermometer thing in the back garden, it registers max and min temps, last night it recorded -17 in my back garden, the coldest place was chesham in  bucks on the edge of the  chilterns which recorded -19 last night...( its 10 mins drive away from us )....

it was so cold when the sun came up this morning and shone onto my bathroom window the double glazing actually cracked, the outer pane of glass shattered !

great huh !
