Just got back from Alfold.  Wow !  That was one one excellently organised event, so glad I went.  Thanks for the directions.  The SatNav location got me to within half a mile then I picked up the signs to the show.  Certainly the largest event I have been to in the S.E..  Warm sunshine and a warmer welcome from all, including many I had met at other recent events.  I don't have a tent so could not stay over.  This is a definite must for next year.  Many thanks to the organisers.

Excellent show again this year, terrific bacon rolls from the scouts tent and the weather held out, a good place to see something unusual -  :-))

Hearty congratulations to Trevor - Alfold definitely up to standard!

I took  a lot of pictures - here’s about a quarter of them!

The Lone Ranger from Luton! (All the rest still drying out from Wicksteed!)

And in action!

“Just downloading the instructions for dismantling the gazebo”.

Scratch-built by the young gentleman behind!

The feminine touch!

But still smiling.  :-)

Oops!

A matter for some concern!

Hang on a minute - these shots are in sequence!

All’s well that ends well!

Let’s hope the weather holds out for tomorrow!

Hi to everyone that attended the boat show over what turned out to be a dry weekend, so it is no myth that the sun always shines on the great Mr C  :}

I take this opportunity to thank you all for your support and encouragement, plus it was great to see a few new faces this year, all who I believe had a enjoyable time.

Still gathering in the last of the money raised for the Merchant Seamen's War Memorial Society, but there is going to be a profit of well over £1,000 in support of the charity aims.

Next year's show is already booked in for the 1st & 2nd June 2013, so put it in your diary and look out for information via this site (if OK) in the near future.

Regards

Trevor

Mark..

I only consider the weather up until 4.00pm on the Sunday afternoon, when the presentation was held, true after that it was quite damp  :((, and we had fun Monday with the amount of surface water, but at least the lake has plenty in it.

Again thanks for coming and supporting us  :-))

Congratulations to Trevor, not only for taking over the reins (not the wet stuff  {-) ) from MR C but for producing a great show. We really enjoyed ourselves meeting old friends and of course making new one's. There were yet again some very fine models there, and the judges must have had a very hard time ( I know I did when I  judged there a few years ago). I would like to thank those nice Southend chaps who's support  ( I say support, they keept me laughing all day saturday) while watching Steamboats Apprentice brasso my Thames Steam Launch, which must have dazzled the judges as I got a second place.. :-))
Now I wonder if she can use a duster.......
See you all next year, if not before   :-)

Well I'm back in the workshop on Saturday. Let's hope I get the chores done in time to learn something. I'll let you know how I get on with the long weight he's promised me!

Great show as always, excellent atmosphere, fine bacon butties ( apparently, ran out just before I got there, great burgers though! ) Some pictures of some of our models in the morning and stuff that I liked later.
