Joysway "Discovery"
« on: February 20, 2012, 10:35:42 am »

Any one like to comment on this yacht, The spec seems OK, How do they sail, for a beginner (in sail).
Been looking at TT Victoria and Micro Magic, but then the Discovery hoved into sight. She seems to be about the size I  am after...i.e. would fit in the car.
Thanks

I've got one, not been able to sail it yet because of various unrelated reasons.
Seems OK, good review a few months ago in one of the UK model boat mags by Chris Jackson who seemed pretty impressed & he should know.

Not too good in a blow but otherwise good value.
The MM is the best heavy weather sailer with the
Victoria not far behind.
I'm lucky if it is really windy the old Marblehead
with C rig goes like a train (and fits in my car!)

Found the "road test" in  MMI Dec 2011.
Sounds OK
Don't think I go out in very windy weather! so it should suit me, for learning
