Hi guys
Thanks for your infomation .
I have just come back from a night sail at Black Park, anyway i had to go into full reverse so as not to hit Holmeses WSC this was OK but after the maneuver i lost power but was able to get my Scharnhorst back to the bank with that horrible smell of burning, anyway i could not see jack on the bank but after disconnecting the power the smell  went ,back home it appears that one of the power leads came off one of the motors .Now the motors are right up against a bulkhead and under a rather large cross member taking the motor out to solder the wire back on is not possible so i have to do it in situ .well if this is the only misshap i have i will be happy,Scharnhorst will be back.

Is that in reverse through the speed controller or direct from the battery.
Check the shaft isnt tightening up one way too.

I recently had a similar problem in my Riva Aquarama.   It turned out that one of the Mtroniks esc would only function in the forward mode.   I found this out when I swapped the esc`s over.   PeteM
