« on: February 28, 2012, 03:00:05 pm »

Hi, I've aquired a boat hull and been told it's a tug does anybody recognise it or have any idea what it
can be? Or is it just an unadopted (copy) of something. Hope it isn't an elegal copy. Any help will be
appreciated  Regards Alan
PS photo's below  I forgot to give dimensions which are 37"L  9"b and about 7" at highest point.

Yes it is definitely a "Confiance" Class hull.
It is still being produced by Andy @ Models By Design.
A very seaworthy model.
I built one about 20 yrs ago.

Thanks to both Dave and Bob, I had no Idea what it was but now I'm a lot happier.
I can now concentrate on getting info and photo's ready to start a build it will be an
experience. I bought it from the boat club where I'm a member it was given to the
club by a late member long time ago apparently. Regards Alan.

I have uploaded a couple of pics to get a taste of what they looked like. May be of interest to you that when new some were operated by the RFA and were painted all grey, before all the Agile and confiance class came under PAS/RMAS.

Thanks for all your suport lads, obviously I'll do my best in the build but I am a beginner when all's said and done.
As yet I've only got the hull and some ply and balsa, and I'm hoping to get some plans soon so I won't start it
till that happens. Thanks again for all the help given so far. Alan
