Hi she is 56" long and 17 1/2" beam. It has two 4" props, powered by 2x true 250wat 24V motors 3 / 1 Gear ratio, 4X 12V 18Ha SLAB batteries. 4x 12V 10HA batteries.
The schottles I made from brass. Fully ball reseeds and oil seals. The housing at the bottom is completely sealed and contains oil to lubricate the 2x bevel gears and bearings in there.
All except the motors (For now) are hand made. The speed controllers and Transceiver system is my own design.
The Transceiver (Radio system) is a two way comms from shay to ship and ship to Shaw.
The reason I make my own radio system is because I wanted the schottled to work like the real thing. You can spin them a full 360 degrees continuously if you want and it is still fully proportional. There will be two controls on the "transmitter" just like the real thing. Where the stick is pointing the where the schottles will point. The more "pressure" you put in the stick the more power to the motors.

The hand held "transmitter" has a large LCD display displaying info transmitted from the boat, like port, starboard prop RPM. Motor Amps. Battery status. Compass and radar, yes a working radar.  So fare there are 28 functions on it i.e.
Winch 1 In
Winch 1 Out
Winch 2 In
Winch 2 Out
Crane Boom up
Crane Boom Down
Crane spin Clock
Crane spin Anti-Clock
Running Lights on
Two Lights on
Monitors on
Cab lights on
Flood lights on
Sound select (There is a 60Wat sub woofer in the Bow which is properly balanced and sealed for a true bumble sound)

The Radio is fully expandable and as many functions as you like can be added.
So fare all the electronics are on prototype board and dint look vary impressive but I will get there. I have a long way to go.

I don't know how long all this took to build so far but it is a beauty. I like the looks of it very much. Great job.

Thakns all for your comments.
I have a question.

I have just recived another photo on the Ngan Chau, and there is an adition to it im not quite sure what it is.
There have been several pipes installed around the top edge of each cabin. This pipe folow the rim right round in a loop but there is no valvs or anything on them.

I have blown the photo up and drew arrows pointing out the pipes.

Has any one any idea what they could be???
The onaly thing i can think of is prehaps they have small hols in the bottom to  spray water over the cabin to cool it when it gets close to a fire. Note this Tug has jets under the bow fender which spray up to create a water wall to protet it against heat.

Any sugestions apresiated.

Thanks.

Nice to see Ngan Chau progressing, this must have been one of my most popular plans judging by the number built. may be able to answer your query re pipes.

Possibly the bow jets are to"lubricate" the bow fender when pushing

Certainly looking good so far!

Does anyone know if the Ngan Chau was the inspiration for the "Dickie" Seaport Workboat RTR tug? It looks very similar (even down to the paint scheme!) other than having twin props/Korts.

It certainly does look a lot like the Seaport tug Edward.
