water cooled esc
« on: March 13, 2012, 01:12:58 am »

Can anyone recommend an esc that is programable, i have seen some called "Hobby wing" 90 amp & 120 amp  on ebay that not too pricey, i would like it water cooled. Must have reverse, used with a 3600 kv motor & x35 prop.
 Many thanks

i got that motor in a package and a 60 amp esc came with it:

This esc is just fine and i use it with a 37.5k graupner 2 blade on a surface drive with 3s lipo. If your going submerged propeller you will probably find that the 35 is a little on the large side so id recommend testing and if not suitable to drop down to a 30  :-))

Hi Ralphy,

What boat are you going to use that motor / ESC combo in?

The reason I ask this; if it's a speedboat, having reverse is te best way to sink your boat, the power is sufficient to pull it under water going in reverse.

If it's a scale(ish) boat and you plan on running it slowly a lot, the ESC will overheat and the motor too, despite the watercooling.

Regards, Jan.
