Still picking up the pieces after the crash:

1. Thanks to everyone that emailed me encouragement & helped me through the diagnosis process.

2. Just PM me if you want your post count reinstated with how many posts you think you had - it's a very quick fix..... and I know how to do that!

Martin,

Not that we all may understand what has just happened, but was it a combination of 'issues' that 'crashed' the forum.

Yippee !   Back in touch with all my friends on Mayhem  :-))
Where would we model boaters be without this incredibly valuable information resource?
OK, so this becomes my 'first' post, but no worries.  Can't remember my previous count anyway.

Martin - you are a hero  :}   Almost 600 of us already, and rising, all eager to stand you a pint !

Returning our post count would be nice, but much more useful would be returning our PMs. Is there any chance of getting these back? Mine had a lot of useful information and contacts...   <:( <:(

We're all in the same boat Krishna..... {-)
Apart from a lucky few, who appear to have kept their post count, we're all down to being newbies with a post count of 1...... <:(

I had the same problem.  I uploaded my picture onto Photobucket.com, then used the full http:// address for the picture instead.
It works  :-))

I notice that, having had to recreate my login, I no longer own my own Nobby build log. Could this cause me any problems with editing? Nothing springs to mind but I'm wondering.

Well I'm still trying to work through the problem but initial findings:

1. Don't always believe what the software writers say about their backup system.
2. A Hosting company's IT support dept. can actually be less than useless.
3. Some people will go out of their way to help you, if you sound pathetic enough.
4. An untested backup  system  is like a condom with a pin hole in it, you'll only find out when it's too late!

No Nobby, it's still yours and we all know that,
... as below, I'm still trying to reconnect all the old accounts.
