Colin over the past few years I have had needles everywhere but in the eye sounds gross.  Hope your eye is recovering nicely

, but you don't have the luxury of being able to shut your eyes as the needle descends with the local anaesthetic.  :o)

OK so this is my mix, I'll call it "Funtime Buff"
It has come out glossy so They might have to have a clear satin coat.

When I was on RMAS St Margarets, the funnel was supposed to be admiralty buff(light buff), but it had to be frequently repainted as the heat from the funnel used to make it go a nice shade sienna brown. As Colin says no one really knows the correct shade also the paint like the RN paint in the last war was probably mixed by hand and depending on how the mixer felt or measure used, it probably altered shade several times, I now paint boats to what pleases me as I build boats for my own pleasure not so called expert rivet counters relying on books written by so called experts.

I am doing a model of a ship from the 1890s, that has areas of pastel shades, and an underbody described as sea green. Obviously I only have a written description of the livery, but I found that using very subtle shades, almost faded looking, worked best on the model...if the colour was too vibrant, it just looked out of place. It will have a buff funnel oddly enough!
Just my personal view on the subject, if it looks right, it is.
I'm no Titanic expert, but the "funtime buff" looks good!
