Earl Sigurd
« on: March 30, 2012, 04:47:32 pm »

A model of this  vintage inter islands (Western Isles???)  steam ferry caught my eye at a model show I attended several years ago  and I'd be interested if anyone has information in respect of this vessel, particularly plans, photos and/or  availability of a GRP hull  to either 1:32 or 1:24 scale, which I could use as the basis of my next project SWMBO permitting! >>:-(.

Thanks in anticipation of positive feedback

Ahoy Ken,

Thanks for the input, but no it's not.

The version I'm interested in  was steam powered, single screw and an open shelter decker of  30's - 40's vintage. It was probably a predecessor of your subject.

Many thanks Michael 1979 . This is what I was looking for. :-))

It's a pity the moulding (if it's still available)  is a tad too small (1:48) for my liking though I might consider a scratch build at a much more impressive 1:32 - if enthusiasm doesn't wain :D.

PS. I 'googled' Earl Sigurd and came up with a detailed downloadable plan published by Aberdeen City Council (Aberdeen built ships) - ain't computers wonderful!
