I've been on the Powell Duffryn jetty just east a bit many times and it's a swine in strong northerlies. You run in pumping ballast, put the bow on the bottom and push while loading and deballasting as the tide rises. Hopefully you're out of ballast and loaded before the tide falls too much. When full, let go, half astern and hope she swings the right way. One Stevie Clarke boat was neaped there for three weeks. At very low water springs they used to drive a bulldozer around the jetty to dredge it. It's a local knowledge type berth. I don't think I'd have tried it last night but, there but for the grace of etc.

If you go to http://www.shipais.com/ and type Carrier into the search box (top right) it will show her position.

They have now started to break up the ship for removal by road, the first job has been to create large holes at the bottom of the ship's sides.
