Ive always had dogs to keep people out, i used to have a great dane ridgeback cross that everyone ran off from ,  at the minute we have 2 sheepdogs and often a doberman and weimaraner , since my own dog died a couple of years ago i have been trying not to get another but ive eventualy decided to get a turkish kangal to keep thieves off me in Bulgaria and Liverpool

Dogs dont always work if someone wants to get in, even big ones

This report back in 2009 was a couple that had dogs,  they just killed the dogs first

If that level of violence is used there is very little you can do to stop it.
Only 1 thing I know would but it has been withdrawn now.
On MoD Armament Depots, (those that could store nuclear weapons), during silent hours a pack of highly trained attack dogs were allowed to roam free. Special guards who were known to the dogs had to escort visitors in a land rover.
These doge were mostly German Sheperds and Dobermans.
They were so highly trained that if their handler was not available then they weren't let out.
In 1 case the handler had health problems so couldn't continue and the dog had to be put down.
During the day they were very quiet and docile in their kennel but as soon as they were let out they truely were "Devil Dogs"
The Depot I knew best had a pack of 15, let out every night from 2000 to 0700.

It would be good to have a few wolves in the garden , that would keep burglers away , i have heard of a few people having them as `pets` over here

In Bulgaria I have made sure my walls are very strong and high as we are on the lower slopes of the Balkan mountains , bears and wolves have been known to come and visit in the village according to the neighbours,

there are quite a lot for animals suposed to be endangered species , someone was killed not that far away by a bear last year when out collecting mushrooms in the woods.

Ive seen some up close in the sancturies , i didnt think bears were so large or fast moving till i got close to them ,  no way someone can out run one like on TV

I find this helps immensely no need to feed it or carry bags of c*#p! round behind it.
