Marles' coupling is hopeless, as the clamp faces the wrong way, all it does is pinch the end of the flexi to a point and fire it out the back. I have a plan though, so lets see how that goes...

Race number bolts onto the other side of the hull, will do 5 minutes of very fast laps then a few of refuelling  ;)

Thanks to all who turned out for a great race.
Due to it blowing in from the north the race times was set at 15 Min's and all but one class had 4 or 5 boats on the starting line.
I can't remember having a race here at Stevenage when the waves caused so much of a problem but all the driver had to work for there money today which made it harder to stay on the top of the water, WELL DONE :-))
See you racing soon.

Hydro is a no go as yet, tried various things with the coupling but I'm thinking the best place for it is the bin. Going to try one more idea and then it's going back.

What can I say, it was very cold and I spent all day in the rescue boat. Not many incidents, apart from a Phantom using Tony Gilder's twin zenoah cat as a launch ramp, putting a rather large dent in it. Bernard Holder won just about everything as usual, and two Stevenage members ended up in the wall due to radio issues.

Just starting to thaw out now....

OK Martin
Around 20 boats turned out for the day. We all had a good time. No well not quite I had to try & get the rescue boat engine to start. I got our second Ob started so we could start to set the course out. Dave from Stevenage ended up driving my car with the boat trailer firmly attracted to it as it did not want to part company and doing loads of running around at the start for me.THANK DAVE YOU ARE A STAR. :-)) Our lap counters was tucked up in one of our members motor caravan the rest of us just got blown away in the north wind.
There was some realy good driving during the day well done . There was one or 2 misshapes during the day but this can sometimes happen when boats are going as fast as they can. Andy managed to get the following in the rescue boat prop. 1 dead brid, 1 rope failed up. and very cold. Thanks Andy  :-))

He was indeed, quite why I saw him doing half a lap in the wrong direction at least three times I'm not too sure. Still, he paid the price for doing it...

Mental note to self. When you test the radio before the start of the race - then turn it off again, don't put the bung in.
I suppose it makes a change from forgetting to put the bung in - after I've turned the radio on though.
