Trawler netting
« on: April 28, 2012, 09:57:17 pm »

Hi

I'm sure this topic has been covered at some point, but could anyone tell me where I can obtain some scale trawler netting for a Model slipway Our Lass fishing boat please. I'm looking for 1:12 scale netting.

Many thanks
Nick

Have a look here Nick  http://www.modellingtimbers.co.uk/23.html

I am about to make a working trawl net, (I hope) going to use an old fishermans landing net.

Not directly reflecting the topic of the material for nets, but related

Do Scoonies in Kirkcaldy still have links with someone who developed equipment to shoot and haul nets?

Thanks

I use bridal tulle for "chain link" railing on my ferry boat.
It is a good netting, but might be a little light for a fishing net.
I suppose it depends on the scale.

In the trawler videos,

I get my net down from our trawl shop. He has always made our trawl gear for the real ships. ...
It is something they use in a test tank model trawl. So,unfortunately, I can not give you a link to it.
