It turns out that I'm heading over this way early next week on a fact finding mission to several Universities and I will be in London on the weekend on the 19th and 20th. It's a really late-breaking trip - I only found out about it last week and it wasn't confirmed at that point either.

I would love to take the opportunity to see any model boating that's going on, so I would be really grateful if anyone can tell me where any groups are likely to be. It sounds as though I will be based in either Kensington or Waterloo and will have a travel pass too (or so I'm told).

Also - any model shops worth visiting?

Contact the Blackheath club, maybe they have something going on. Contact details here.

Always worth a visit for me is Hamleys.

It's out of town a bit, but there is the Merstham model steam show in Surrey on that weekend. Boats on the school swimming pool, many train layouts, traders, and bring and buy stall. Alan

Guys, thanks for the replies.
Saturday I did Hamleys (thanks you W3bby!) and spent far too much money on stuff for the kids and on Sunday I went out to Stevenage and met Klunk and also Bill D203.
I had a damn nice time too, except for the cold - 'twas absolutely freeeezing, although Bill reckoned it was summer temps... Nice man that he is, he let me have a play with one of his boats.
Thanks very much to both of them for their hospitality!

The weather has been grim and cool for this time of year. It's supposed to be warming up this week. We'll see.
