Servo Torque
« on: May 18, 2012, 07:14:13 pm »

I'm building the Lesro TID tug, which has a rudder measuring 4cm x 3cm.  Would a micro servo with a stall torque of around 1.8kg be powerful enough to operate the rudder, or would it require a standard size?

The micro size would be more convenient as the tug measures only 20" overall and space is at a premium as I'm installing sound, smoke, etc.

Thanks

Hi seagate, I am using a 3.7g mini servo to operate the rudder on my Zwarte Zee tug 32 inches loa, similar size rudder on testing at full power (well not a lot, 6volts 2.5 amps) the rudder snaps across no problem.
