Wish we had seen more of the Maori war canoe, the nautical haka with the paddles was good. :-))    Some interesting "Dutch" canal barges.

I found the coverage a bit disappointing just glimpses at some of the boats was hoping for a bit more focus on the boats rather than all the presenters

Am watching it on Sky news, the BBC coverage and commentary is as usual absolutely abysmal.

 Yeah I swapped over to Sky news,to find much better coverage,more about the pageant than the presenters.Worse part was the adverts,but worst of all was Incessant moaning of Eamonn Holmes,saying he wished they would speed up so he could go home out of the rain.While all the spectators were out in the rain and enjoying it,I bet the overfed Holmes was being paid far too much as usual.My admiration for the choir who sang the National Anthem, absolutely soaked to the skin,but looking like they were really enjoying it all.

I went the other way.  Started off on sky news but had to give up and go to BBC = couldnt take any more of that idiot Eamon Holmes.  Has to be the most obnoxious person on TV.  Im not a violent person but.............

I agree, he always looks like he would rather be some where else, which is fine by me!  Did he not take out some sort of court order to stop people talking about his size?

Anyway....................highlights????

For me, the beginning and the end;

The Queen on her lovely Barge from HMY Britannia pulling away from the Chelsea Pier to huge cheers and triumphal whistles from LMS loco Princess Elizabeth, and then right at the end, the London Philharmonic Orchestral barge with Pomp & Circumstance, Blue Peter and the National Anthem, closing with the bascules of Tower Bridge closing to deafening cheers amidst copius whistling/bells/cheering/horns/sirens from boats, shore, bridges and riverside dwellings- British, you bet!!

My thoughts entirely. I would have loved more shots of the classic stuff like 102 & some of the Dunkirk little ships. Interviewing presenters was entirely pointless as far as I was concerned.

The Blue Peter theme is actually called 'Barnacle Bill' and was written for the show. Unashamedly based on the famous Hornpipe we heard today, but not the same.

Well, why on earth should he - he's a yachtsman and yachtsmen don't use use semaphore!

Did anyoneone see the new RNLI lifeboat, Golden Jubillee, on BBC?   I didn't.  Too much inter-presenter chat and insufficient coverage of the wonderful amada IMO
