Paul,
The build looks fabulous !
Your sub has really embarrassed my Engel Gato and it is now looking for a Viagra prescription ! LOL!
I would love to find the Gato model but they must be very scarce but not as scarce as my 32nd Parallel USS Holland.

I don't want to go bursting your bubble, Giovanni...but that boat in the bottom picture isn't a 32nd Parallel U-boat, it's my old scratchbuilt, all wood Type 1X, U-117. Picture taken at the Model Engineer Exhibition in London back in the 80's.

Just had another look, I love it. I have a scaleshipyard type nine u boat hull and tower in the same scale. I was thinking about selling it, but now I think I will make it my next project. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Cheers.

Hi Phill,
I have a 1/48th scale Scale Shipyard Type IX sub.
Haven't started the build, yet.
I would like to see photos of your progress when started.
Good luck with your build. I always wanted the 1/32nd scale but was offered a good 1/48th scale second-hand kit.
I am going to use water jet  cut two-sided copper laminated PB decks in three sections.
These electronic boards are inexpensive and gives the builder the option of soft soldering metal fasteners under and over the decks.
The copper laminate can also be chemically finished in a nice patina color for that aged look.
I only need to get a very good drawing of the deck to convert into a CAD drawing, then off to the laser cutting machine.
I'm building my own piston ballast tanks and using eFlite brushless motors with Castle Hydra ESCs.
My radio is a Graupner MC-19 40MHz converted to a Spectra synthesized 75MHz TX. My receiver is a Sambra Labs.
These radios are getting affordable on the second-hand market, now.

Hi there Giovanni. I have about 50 very high quality photographs of u 505 at the Chicago science museum. These will have all of the information you need to reproduce a very detailed deck, and tower for your model. If you wish, I will let you have them, for free. I have been thinking about what to build next, as the next model I build will probably be the last, and I have settled on a 1/48th Fletcher class destroyer, the fighting fletch. Tassie48 has kindly sent me some plans and part's to start me on my way, I will pay it forward, and try to help you, as tassie48 has helped me. Pm me your address if you would like the photographs.
Cheers
Phil

Hi Phil,
Thanks for your offer. PM sent.
I'm in Alameda,Ca.
Where are you?
Please let me know if you ever decide to adopt out your Type IX sub. I would love to own this 1/32nd sub.
I was thinking of using the Alexander Engel  U177 Type IX D2 conning tower.
What do you think?
