1/72 scale corvette hmcs snowberry rebuild from hull up
« on: June 06, 2012, 09:40:22 am »

hello abouut 2/3 years ago i brought a corvette kit from revell to convert to rc but didnt  do very well instead of using plastic welder i used super glue and just genrelly bugard it up so one day i said hell to it ripped the decks and everything up i kept some of  the smaller details but los of stuff went in the bin a lot of main superstructer and the decks were kept to make templates for the later balsa versions atm i have cut out the forward deck and hatch but want tpput the rc in before anything goes on pics to follow    ps its going to have a 600 size motor

That motor is waaaaay Too big! (but fun!). Mine has a 280 but would be better with a slow 400. Keep the superstructure weight down. Build in plasticard it very easy as most of the structure is square boxes. Plasweld is cheap so use that. Super glue is ok but use a fine tip. Most model stores sell them.

Put a 540 in mine after the monoperm burned out. A 540 on 7.2V with a 45mm 3 blade prop was quite good, didn't plane, but had alot of power, but that was from another boat so couldn't stay in there, now got an MFA 'rocket' 400, but seems to be getting a little warm...
