I sold a model of a Supply class supply ship that was only half way completed to a guy for $3500.00 . I also sold with a trade a Ticonderoga class model to another. I got $500.00 for the model and he gave me a North Carolina battleship that was not even started that had all of the fittings to go with it. The battleship with all the fittings along with the fiberglass hull and structure set and all of the cast resin fittings and brass fittings is $2200.00 worth add that with the $500.00 in cash that made the model I sold worth $2700.00.

If I build a model for some one that wants one built I charge $125.00 per inch in the length of the model. I build Naval models in 1/96 scale therefore most models run from 50 - 90 inches in length.

Not unreasonable considering the time and effort you have to put into a model that is not even yours. It requires a different mind set to be able to build for others. I have tried it and hated it!
